Through a unique spirit of cooperation between school and community, we are dedicated to promoting health and wellness and providing opportunities for instruction, recreation and competitve events at well run facilities.
The Webster Aquatic Center (WAC) is managed by the Webster Central School District. Since its grand opening in April 2002, the WAC has become a focal point for aquatic recreation, instruction, and competition in the greater Webster area.
The WAC is home to the School District’s swimming and diving teams, Town recreation programs, the Webster Bluefins swimming and diving clubs, the Webster Masters Swim Club, a dozen different aquatic fitness classes, and therapeutic programs.
Scout groups, school groups, families, seniors, and high-caliber athletes enjoy the facility side-by-side.
The idea for Aquatic Center was born in 1998 out of a need for improved facilities during the time when Webster Schools were expanding from one high school to two. The superintendent of schools and town supervisor at that time worked together to encourage development of facilities that would meet the needs of the entire community. This Town-School Partnership successfully leveraged school state aid with community funds to construct the Webster Aquatic Center adjacent to Schroeder High School along with a multi-use field house and playing fields at other sites throughout the school district.
